Dena,
Just found your blog and bookmarked it. I will check back and be keeping Sarah in our prayers as she grows. Lucas was in the hospital for 2 days with pnuemonia at 7 weeks old - I was super stressed. I therefore cannot even fathom the burden and stress that this medical care must be to you! But thank the Lord for what he is doing with and for you and Sarah! It is His love and presence that will carry you both through!

Dear Dena,
What sweet words. God is good all the time, all the time he is Good! I said this over and over while I was in the hospital with TJ. Know this “He will never leave you”!
This Thanksgiving I too am greatful for so much. We are blessed and serve a mighty God. He holds us always in the palm of his hand. Hang in there. You are a wonderful momma! Your Father God is so proud of you as are so many of us. You and Pat were given Sarah for a reason because he knew you could handle it. She is a blessing as the two of you are to her. Happy Thanksgivng my cousin. May you have a very blessed day.
Love you, Theresa

Thank you for creating this website and talking so openly about your experience with GA-1. My fiancee developed symptoms of GA-2 at age 2, was diagnosed at age 10 (medicine has come a long way), and is now 26. Until very recently, we were so in the dark about Organic Acidemias and felt all alone. Although there are finally more good days than bad, this disorder is constantly on our minds and requires daily management and planning. Even as I type this, he is laying in the hospital bed next to me, tossing and turning in pain and discomfort. We follow all the advice we have been given, yet hospital visits are still unavoidable for him. When the doctors and nurses have done everything they can think of and we must just wait for him to feel better, all I can do is be here for him. As a primary caregiver (we have been together 10 years in December), I understand what you are going through as you try to keep up with this disorder. Thankfully, I was not there for the 8 years of not knowing what was wrong. As a parent, I commend your courage and strength. I know how hard it can be to be strong for your loved one. At least your daughter has an angel like you taking care of her everyday. Never forget how important you are in her life, as I know you never forget how important she is in your life. Everyday there is new hope as more and more people learn about Organic Acidemias, more research is being done, and more newborn screening is done. You are so fortunate that your state required or offered the screening and you didn't lose precious time. Take each blessing as they come, as each day is a new day.
All my blessings to you and your family.

Hi Dena,Sarah family, i love your site and will be showing it off to all my friends and family. I wept alot when reading about you and looking at your photos, some tears were for sadness as my son Luke also has ga1 and it is so hard to understand why these wonderful gorgeous kids have to suffer so much but lots of the tears were happy tears as like Luke, Sarah is surrounded by a great family and despite everything is a happy beautiful little girl. I leave your site full of insperation and ready to face another day.
Thank you x

Tomorrow is your last day of pre-k with Mrs. Fries, Helena, Ron, and I. I want you to know, Sarah Grace, that you've been a very good teacher to me this year! I am so blessed to have you in my life.. You've taught me paitence, strength, and joy. What you've had to endure (and what your family has endured) shows how strong you really are. Anyone that has had to put you in a bathing suit would also know ;o)
Anyhow, I just wanted you to know that I love you and that you are ALWAYS in my prayers. I'm sharing your benefit information with my family in friends in hopes that they will get to meet the amazing Sarah that I talk about! See you tomorrow, Sarah Bear. We are so proud of all the hard work you've done!
Love,
Megan
